What's covered under the Article:

  1. ACME Solar Holdings commissions 1023 MW of solar power projects in Rajasthan, enhancing its renewable capacity.
  2. The Jaisalmer project will generate 3000 MUs of clean electricity annually, reducing GHG emissions.
  3. ACME Solar's renewable energy portfolio reaches 2363 MW, with significant focus on Rajasthan's high-irradiance zones.

ACME Solar Holdings Limited, a leading player in India’s renewable energy sector, has recently announced a major milestone with the commissioning of 1023 MW of solar power across four different projects in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. This achievement brings the company’s total operational renewable generation capacity to 2363 MW, marking a significant advancement in its mission to lead through innovation in the solar power industry.

The projects, developed by wholly owned subsidiaries of ACME Solar Holdings, were successfully energized on December 18, 2024. The commissioned capacity includes contributions from several Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs), such as ACME Dhaulpur Powertech Private Limited, ACME Deoghar Solar Power Private Limited, ACME Phalodi Solar Energy Private Limited, and ACME Raisar Solar Energy Private Limited. Together, these projects represent one of the largest single-day commissioning events for solar power in the country this year.

The 1023 MW of capacity is part of a larger total of 1200 MW being developed in Rajasthan. The remaining 177 MW is already energized and is in the process of commissioning. These solar plants are strategically located in high solar irradiation zones, making them ideal for efficient energy production. By leveraging common infrastructure across the four plants, ACME Solar has optimized power evacuation, ensuring higher operational efficiency and greater generation potential.

Once fully operational, the project is expected to generate around 3000 MUs of clean electricity annually, significantly contributing to India’s renewable energy targets. This will also help mitigate Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions by 2.6 million tonnes every year, aligning with India’s commitment to tackling climate change and promoting sustainable energy solutions.

The financing for the project was facilitated through a partnership with PFC and REC, with a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) signed with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) at a tariff of Rs 2.44 per unit. This agreement underscores the viability and long-term sustainability of solar energy investments in India, which continues to see significant growth in solar installations.

Nikhil Dhingra, the CEO of ACME Solar Holdings, expressed his excitement about the successful commissioning. He emphasized the strategic importance of Rajasthan, which now houses over 1773 MW of ACME Solar's total capacity. Dhingra also highlighted the company’s plans to expand further in Rajasthan with upcoming CTU connected solar, FDRE, and Hybrid plants, which will utilize existing infrastructure and PPAs with central government counterparties. These projects are designed to increase ACME Solar’s footprint in India’s rapidly expanding solar energy sector.

The commissioning of the 1023 MW capacity is a significant step towards meeting the growing demand for clean energy in India, and it sets the stage for ACME Solar to continue its leadership in the renewable energy space. As part of its broader strategy, ACME Solar is focusing on expanding its portfolio, with plans for future projects that will leverage advanced technologies to enhance energy efficiency and grid integration.

This accomplishment is also a testament to the company’s ability to execute large-scale projects in challenging environments. With state-of-the-art engineering capabilities and a strong project management team, ACME Solar is well-positioned to continue delivering results that support India’s renewable energy goals.

As ACME Solar expands its operations, the company remains committed to contributing to India’s energy transition, ensuring that solar energy plays a crucial role in the country’s path to a sustainable, low-carbon future.
