Akshay Kumar has tested positive for COVID-19 for the third time while promoting his latest film, Sarfira. This news comes alongside positive tests for several members of the Sarfira promotional team. Akshay Kumar had previously battled COVID-19 in April 2021, which resulted in hospitalization, and again in May 2022.

In 2022, Akshay Kumar had to cancel his appearance at the India Pavilion at Cannes Film Festival after testing positive for COVID-19. Despite these health challenges, Akshay continues to be active in the film industry. His upcoming film, Khel Khel Mein, originally slated for September 6, 2024, will now hit theaters on August 15, 2024 (Independence Day). Taapsee Pannu shared the news on social media, inviting audiences to enjoy a "mad world of laughter, drama & loads of fun" with the film's star-studded cast.
