These sellers have collectively offered more than 400 million Indian products across Amazon's global marketplaces. According to Mr. Bhupen Wakankar, Director of Global Trade at Amazon India, significant investments are being made in tools and technologies to help sellers optimize their reach, enhance product discovery, and increase sales. This support has been crucial in driving the program’s success, particularly in the beauty and apparel categories, which are experiencing rapid growth. The beauty category has seen over 40% year-over-year growth, while apparel has grown by over 35%.
Indian sellers are making notable inroads in several international markets, with the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada being the top destinations. Additionally, there has been significant activity in Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and Mexico. In India, Delhi, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra are leading in export volumes. Smaller cities such as Anand in Gujarat and Gautam Buddha Nagar in Uttar Pradesh have also achieved remarkable sales, with US$ 89 million and US$ 47 million respectively in 2023.
The success of Amazon Global Selling highlights the importance of improving cross-border logistics and payment solutions for small businesses engaged in e-commerce exports.
