With the Delhi Assembly Elections 2025 approaching, Arvind Kejriwal, former Delhi Chief Minister and leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has launched a scathing critique of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) while highlighting the achievements of his party over the past years. In an exclusive interview on India TV’s Chunav Manch on January 25, 2025, Kejriwal accused the BJP of trying to sway voters through bribery and manipulation, citing the alleged distribution of gold chains, sarees, shoes, and cash to influence the electorate.

Kejriwal sharply criticized the BJP’s election campaign, claiming that instead of discussing vision or policies, the BJP has resorted to personal attacks on him. He emphasized, "While BJP indulges in personal attacks, I am talking about what I plan to do for the people of Delhi in the next five years." He called the BJP a "visionless" party, focusing on his party's record rather than engaging in petty politics.

Reflecting on his time in jail, Kejriwal shared that it was a spiritual awakening for him, having spent time reading the Bhagavad Gita and learning lessons in humility. He acknowledged his own shortcomings, admitting to some past arrogance.

Turning to his party's track record, Kejriwal proudly discussed several key achievements:

  • Electricity: Kejriwal touted AAP’s success in eliminating power cuts in Delhi, stating that electricity is now available 24 hours a day in the city, a significant improvement over other states like Uttar Pradesh, where power shortages still persist.
  • Education: Kejriwal called Delhi’s education model "unbeatable," mentioning the substantial increase in the number of students from Delhi government schools qualifying for competitive exams like NEET. He pointed out that 25% of the state budget is allocated to education, which he claimed will help eliminate poverty in the country.
  • Health: Highlighting the success of Mohalla Clinics, Kejriwal emphasized how his government took on the "health mafia" and how the BJP set up fake investigations to hinder their work.
  • Law and Order: Kejriwal expressed concern over Delhi’s law and order situation, claiming it is being referred to as the "rape capital" and "gangster capital" due to the state of safety in the city. He stressed the need to improve law enforcement and bring about positive change.

On the issue of Yamuna cleaning, Kejriwal reaffirmed his commitment to the cause, despite setbacks caused by the BJP’s negative politics. He assured the public that the cleaning efforts will continue once the political roadblocks are cleared.

Kejriwal also touched on his role in the India Bloc coalition, acknowledging that joining the bloc is a "political compulsion" for AAP, but emphasizing that once AAP becomes a national party, it will no longer need such alliances.

The Delhi CM hopeful also addressed the ongoing corruption charges and criticisms, asserting that AAP’s fight against corruption remains strong and undeterred by BJP’s tactics.

As the elections near, voting will take place on February 5, 2025, with results to be declared on February 8, 2025. The election will be a pivotal moment for Delhi, as AAP seeks a third consecutive term while facing a strong challenge from the BJP.
