Bandi Sanjay challenged KTR to a public debate, asserting he could prove BJP MP Ramesh’s allegation that BRS wanted a merger in 2023.
He accused BRS of corruption and political collapse, stating the party proposed the merger due to internal weakness and public rejection.
He inaugurated a ₹23.75 crore Critical Care Block in Karimnagar, highlighting Central government efforts in Telangana healthcare.

Karimnagar, July 28, 2025 — In a fresh political confrontation, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar threw a public challenge to BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) for an open debate on BJP MP C.M. Ramesh’s allegations regarding a merger proposal between BRS and BJP in 2023.

Speaking to the media in Karimnagar on Sunday, Sanjay reacted sharply to the allegations swirling in political circles and claimed that it was in fact the BRS leadership that had approached BJP with a merger proposal, citing their inability to run the party.

“Let KTR choose the place and time. I’m ready for a public debate anywhere — be it Karimnagar or Hyderabad. I will prove C.M. Ramesh’s allegations true,” Sanjay stated defiantly.

Sanjay further reminded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during a public address in Nizamabad in 2023, had categorically stated BJP’s opposition to family-centric political outfits and “dynastic politics”.

“The BJP has always stood against nepotism. BRS, a party run by one family, had no ideological space in our organisation,” he said.
