Bharti Airtel Limited, one of India’s largest telecom providers, has announced an extension of its strategic partnership with Ericsson. The deal, valued in multi-billions, will see Ericsson providing state-of-the-art 4G and 5G RAN (Radio Access Network) products and solutions to Bharti Airtel for its India operations. This deal includes the deployment of centralized RAN and Open RAN-ready solutions, designed to enhance network transformation and improve coverage and capacity for Airtel’s customers.

The collaboration also involves a significant software upgradation of the current 4G radios deployed by Airtel, enhancing overall customer experience. This new contract underscores Airtel's commitment to leveraging the latest technology to improve the speed, reliability, and coverage of its network, offering users an exceptional experience across India.

Randeep Sekhon, CTO of Bharti Airtel, remarked that the strategic partnership with Ericsson aligns with the company’s ongoing efforts to deliver world-class network services. He further added, "This deployment will enable us to further improve the speed, reliability, and coverage of our network, ensuring an exceptional experience for our customers."
