World Leaders Pay Their Tributes
Among the prominent international figures present at the funeral were King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck of Bhutan and Mauritius Foreign Minister. Wangchuck, who has been a close ally of India, laid a wreath on Singh’s mortal remains, marking his respect for the late leader. The Mauritius government also declared a half-mast flag in honor of Singh’s contribution to global and regional diplomacy during his tenure as Prime Minister.

Singh’s Final Journey
The funeral procession for Singh began from the AICC headquarters in Delhi, where Congress leaders and workers gathered to honor the man who played a pivotal role in shaping India’s economic future. The mortal remains of Dr. Singh were placed in a flower-bedecked casket and draped with the Indian tricolor. His final journey was accompanied by chants of "Manmohan Singh amar rahe" (Long live Manmohan Singh) and "Jab tak suraj chand rahega, tab tak tera naam rahega" (As long as the sun and moon shine, your name will live on).
National Mourning and Tribute
In line with the official government announcement, India is observing a seven-day national mourning to pay respects to the former Prime Minister. During this period, the national flag is being flown at half-mast across the nation. The government also organized ceremonies where President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, and key political leaders from various parties offered their tributes to Dr. Singh. The Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan and the three services chiefs were also present, further demonstrating the respect Singh garnered across all sectors of the nation.
