In a major breakthrough in a high-profile murder investigation, police forces from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh joined hands to neutralise Dabloo Yadav, a wanted gangster, during a midnight encounter in Hapur district. According to Additional Director General (ADG) Amitabh Yash of the UP Special Task Force (STF), the gunfight took place in the Simbhaoli area of Hapur, a locality that has been under watch due to criminal movement. The police reportedly acted on intelligence that placed Yadav in the vicinity, leading to an attempt to apprehend him. However, the gangster opened fire, resulting in a retaliatory exchange that ended when he was shot in the chest. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, he succumbed to his injuries, confirmed officials.

Who Was Dabloo Yadav?

Dabloo Yadav, a resident of Sahebpur Kamal in Begusarai district, Bihar, had been on the run since May 2025. He was the prime accused in the abduction and murder of Vikash Kumar alias Rakesh Kadam, a block president of the Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM party). Kumar, who was also a noted social worker, was kidnapped on May 24, 2025, and later murdered and buried in the diara region, a marshy riverside area known for being a haven for criminals.

The STF statement revealed that Yadav used his gang to execute the abduction and murder, later attempting to hide the crime by burying the body under sand. The heinous nature of the crime and the political profile of the victim had triggered pressure on authorities to nab the culprit swiftly.

Due to the seriousness of his crimes, a reward of ₹50,000 was announced on his capture. His activities had drawn the attention of law enforcement agencies across multiple states, and he was considered armed and dangerous.

Arms and Ammunition Seized

The encounter site yielded significant findings. The STF recovered a large cache of weapons, including firearms, cartridges, and communication devices believed to have been used in criminal activities. These items are now part of the evidence that could lead to further unraveling of the gang's operations.
