Canarys Automations Limited, formerly known as Canarys Automations Private Limited, has announced securing a prestigious contract from the Government of Tamil Nadu, specifically from the Water Resources Department, Chennai Region, for the SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition)-based automation of Chennai City Water Supply Reservoirs. The contract, valued at INR 15.54 Crores, involves the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of SCADA-based reservoir gate automation, including a 5-year operations and maintenance agreement.

This contract is a significant milestone for Canarys Automations, marking its successful entry into the water resources management sector with advanced automation solutions. The project aims to automate critical water supply infrastructure, enhancing operational efficiency and sustainability for Chennai's growing population.

Key Details of the Project

The SCADA-based Reservoir Gate Automation system, which will be deployed at multiple reservoirs within Chennai's water supply network, is designed to enhance operational control and improve decision-making through real-time data. The integrated Decision Support System (DSS) will provide a comprehensive approach to managing and monitoring water levels, flood risks, and overall water distribution for the city. This contract follows Canarys' earlier success with a similar project for the Gorakhpur City Municipal Corporation, worth INR 25 Crores.

The project will be executed starting from December 2024, with the supply, installation, and commissioning expected to be completed by December 2025. Following this, Canarys will oversee the operations and maintenance for the next five years, ensuring the system’s continued effectiveness and longevity.
