Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd. (MDL), a prominent public sector shipyard under the Ministry of Defence, has appointed Capt (IN Retd) Jagmohan as its new Chairman & Managing Director, effective 21 April 2025. This appointment follows a notification from the Ministry of Defence, dated 18 April 2025, and will last until his superannuation date of 30 September 2029, or until further orders from the Ministry.

This leadership transition also marks the conclusion of Shri Biju George's tenure as the additional charge holder for the Chairman & Managing Director position, as he ceases this role from 21 April 2025.

Capt (IN Retd) Jagmohan brings a wealth of experience to his new position. A Naval Architect from Cochin University of Science & Technology, he holds a post-graduation and M.Tech in Naval Construction & Ocean Engineering. He has a distinguished career spanning over 25 years in the Indian Navy, during which he held key positions in the Directorate of Naval Design and at Naval Dockyard, Mumbai. Before his appointment at Mazagon Dock, he was associated with Goa Shipyard Ltd. as Director (Corporate Planning, Project & Business Development), where he also served as Director (Operations) on additional charge. He has also worked with Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd., Kolkata, as Chief General Manager (Design), overseeing several high-profile projects for the Indian Navy and Indian Coast Guard.

The appointment of Capt Jagmohan is expected to drive the company's future initiatives, particularly in the domain of shipbuilding and design for defense sectors. He is noted for his leadership in handling complex warship projects, including stealth frigates, ASW corvettes, and patrol vessels, underscoring his extensive expertise in naval design and project management.

This move reflects Mazagon Dock's continued commitment to advancing its leadership capabilities in line with the defense sector's growing demands. The company's portfolio and future prospects are expected to benefit significantly from Capt Jagmohan's strategic vision and naval engineering experience.

As stipulated in the disclosure requirements under SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, there are no disqualifications or barriers preventing Capt Jagmohan from assuming the office of Director and Chairman & Managing Director of Mazagon Dock. The disclosure is also in line with the guidelines laid out in SEBI Circular No. SEBUHO!CFD!CFD-PoD2/CIRJP/0 155 dated 11th November 2024.

This leadership change is a significant development for Mazagon Dock, ensuring that the company remains at the forefront of shipbuilding innovation, particularly in naval defense technology, while continuing to deliver advanced solutions for the Indian Navy and Coast Guard.
