As per the latest updates, while rumors have circulated suggesting the results might be released shortly, officials have clarified that there will be no advance notice of the result announcement to manage the traffic on the official websites.
In the 2024-25 academic session, around 42 lakh students appeared for the CBSE board examinations. Students should keep an eye on the official websites such as cbse.gov.in, results.cbse.nic.in, and cbseresults.nic.in, as these will be the platforms where they can check their scores once they are released. The CBSE has previously adopted a strategy of releasing results without prior notification to ensure that the websites do not crash due to heavy traffic, which has been an issue in previous years.
Past Trends and Expected Timeline In recent years, CBSE has consistently released the Class 12 results around mid-May, with the 2024 results declared on May 13 and 2023 results on May 12. However, in 2022, there was an unusual delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and results were declared in July. This year, students can expect the results to be announced at any time in May, but no exact date has been confirmed yet.
To be declared as passed, students must secure at least 33% marks in each subject. However, for students who are marginally short of passing marks—by one or two points—there is the possibility of grace marks being awarded to help them clear the exam.
Checking Your Results: Various Platforms Students can easily check their results through the official CBSE websites. Here’s the process to follow:

Apart from the websites, DigiLocker will also provide digital access to the CBSE marksheets. Students who have registered on DigiLocker can log into the app, enter their roll number and date of birth, and download their official marksheet. The UMANG app is another platform students can use to access their results once they are released.
Results Not Declared Yet Although there has been much speculation about the release of the results, CBSE has clarified that they have not been declared yet. Some fake news websites are falsely claiming the results have been released, so students are advised to rely only on official sources for updates.
Alternative Result Checking Methods In addition to checking results online, students can also access their CBSE results via SMS and IVRS services. Details for these services will be shared by CBSE closer to the result release date.
