The West Bengal Assembly witnessed unprecedented chaos and disorder on Thursday, with legislators of the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) engaging in a heated confrontation over alleged atrocities against Bengali migrants in states governed by the BJP. While clarifying that she is “not against Hindi,” Banerjee alleged that the BJP is fundamentally anti-Bengali and seeks to suppress the identity and dignity of the people of West Bengal. She declared:

“BJP is a party of the corrupt, a party of vote thieves. They are the biggest dacoit party. They have a dictatorial and colonial mindset, and they want to turn Bengal into their colony.”

She further alleged that the BJP uses central forces like the CISF to harass opposition MPs, citing past incidents in Parliament.

The Chief Minister’s remarks sparked further uproar, as she predicted that the BJP would soon face political downfall, both in the state and at the Centre.

Banerjee said:
“Mark my words, a day will come when not a single BJP MLA will sit in this House. People will throw you out of power. The Modi and Amit Shah-led government at the Centre will collapse soon.”

Her statements echoed TMC’s broader political narrative of portraying the BJP as a threat to regional identity and federalism.
