Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, during his official visit to South Korea, held a crucial meeting in Seoul with Mr. Lee Jae Jeng, Chairman of the Advanced Technology Centre Association (ATCA), and senior officials of the body. ATCA is one of South Korea’s influential industrial associations, representing more than 60 leading companies across sectors such as IT, electronics, semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, and textiles.
The meeting marked an important milestone in Chhattisgarh’s ongoing efforts to project itself as a hub for global investments under the Chhattisgarh Industrial Policy 2024–30.
Chhattisgarh’s Investor-Friendly Vision
Welcoming the ATCA delegation, CM Sai emphasized Chhattisgarh’s investor-friendly environment and extended an invitation to Lee Jae Jeng and his team to visit the state during their upcoming India tour. The Chief Minister highlighted that a physical visit would allow ATCA members to directly assess opportunities for investment, industrial collaboration, and long-term partnerships in Chhattisgarh.
He also pointed out that the state is home to world-class educational institutions like IIT, IIM, NIT, and AIIMS, which provide a strong talent pool for cutting-edge research and innovation. With plug-and-play infrastructure and a robust logistics network, Chhattisgarh positions itself as a natural hub for R&D centres and industrial expansion.
Focus on Key Sectors
The Chief Minister stressed that Chhattisgarh offers immense scope for collaboration in IT, semiconductors, electronics, pharmaceuticals, and textiles. He assured that the state government will handhold every investor at all levels, including single-window clearances, land allocation, regulatory approvals, and supportive industrial policies.
Sai added, “We want ATCA companies to come, invest, and create new milestones of partnership. This will generate large-scale employment for our youth and empower local industries.”
Mineral Wealth and Lithium Reserves
A key highlight of CM Sai’s address was Chhattisgarh’s abundant mineral wealth, especially resources critical to the automobile and electronics industries. He underlined the state’s lithium reserves, which are crucial for electric vehicle (EV) batteries and renewable energy storage systems. This positions Chhattisgarh as a potential hub for the global EV revolution and energy transition.
Chhattisgarh Investor Connect in Seoul
During his Korea visit, CM Sai also addressed the Chhattisgarh Investor Connect programme in Seoul, organized with the support of the Indian Chamber of Commerce in Korea (ICCK). The event highlighted the state’s industrial strengths and opportunities for South Korean enterprises.
Sai pointed out that South Korea is among India’s top three steel export destinations, and as a leading steel-producing state, Chhattisgarh is well-positioned to deepen this trade partnership.
ICCK Partnership for Industrial Policy 2024–30
On this occasion, CM Sai announced the onboarding of ICCK as a Knowledge Partner for Chhattisgarh’s Industrial Policy 2024–30. The partnership aims to foster technology transfer, skill development, and global industrial collaborations. He emphasized that with Korea’s innovation and Chhattisgarh’s resources, the two sides could build a new era of industrial cooperation and shared growth.
Commitment to Investors
The Chief Minister reiterated his government’s commitment to creating a seamless experience for investors, offering comprehensive support across approvals, infrastructure, and industrial facilitation. He expressed confidence that with active participation from South Korean companies, Chhattisgarh’s industrial landscape will scale new heights and strengthen India–South Korea economic cooperation.
In conclusion, CM Vishnu Deo Sai’s South Korea visit reflects Chhattisgarh’s growing ambition to integrate with the global economy, leveraging its mineral wealth, infrastructure, and skilled workforce to attract world-class investments. The outreach to ATCA and ICCK underlines a strategic push to transform the state into a hub of innovation, electric mobility, and sustainable industrial development.
