Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has lauded the Union Budget 2026–27, describing it as a visionary blueprint for India’s growth and development. Speaking at a press conference in Lucknow, CM Yogi expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for presenting a budget that emphasizes a nation-first approach, underlining reforms, growth, and fiscal discipline.
Highlighting India’s economic trajectory, CM Yogi said that the country is on its way to becoming the world’s third-largest economy, crediting PM Modi’s focus on long-term strategies that prioritize citizen duties alongside rights. He emphasized that policies implemented over the past 11 years have lifted 25 crore people above the poverty line, contributing to the nation’s steady progress. CM Yogi also noted that Budget 2026 is the first to be prepared and presented from Kartavya Bhawan, reinforcing the message of responsibility and national duty for every Indian citizen.
Focusing on Uttar Pradesh, CM Yogi highlighted a key component of the budget – the allocation of Rs 10,000 crore for the MSME sector, where the state leads nationally. Under the ‘One District, One Product’ initiative, the state has significantly expanded exports, created employment opportunities, and strengthened its manufacturing capabilities. This financial boost is expected to further empower UP’s MSME sector, drive economic growth, and create jobs across multiple districts.
CM Yogi emphasized that reform, growth, and fiscal discipline form the pillars of the budget, providing a strong foundation for sustainable development and guiding future generations. He described the budget as fulfilling the aspirations of India’s most populous state, ensuring that policy measures reach the grassroots level and enable socio-economic upliftment.
On a national scale, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman unveiled a Rs 53.5 lakh crore Union Budget for 2026–27, highlighting measures to boost manufacturing, agriculture, tourism, and global data centres. The budget is designed as a long-term roadmap for sustaining economic growth amid global uncertainties. Key initiatives include tax incentives for technology and manufacturing sectors, support for startups, and plans to promote ecologically sustainable tourism trails across India.
The budget also proposes the creation of a National Destination Digital Knowledge Grid to digitally document all culturally, spiritually, and historically significant places across India. This initiative aims to generate employment for local researchers, historians, content creators, and technology partners while preserving India’s rich heritage. Notable tourism projects include mountain trails in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Jammu & Kashmir, eco-trails in Araku Valley and Podhigai Malai, turtle nesting trails in Odisha, Karnataka, and Kerala, and bird watching trails at Pulicat Lake in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
Furthermore, the budget envisions infrastructure development such as the East Coast Industrial Corridor with a key node in Durgapur, West Bengal, and the creation of five tourism destinations in the Purvodaya states, aimed at boosting regional growth, investment, and employment. These measures align with CM Yogi’s vision for Uttar Pradesh and India, promoting industrial expansion, economic diversification, and skill development at the grassroots level.
CM Yogi concluded that Budget 2026 is not only a financial statement but also a strategic framework for India’s development, reflecting the government’s commitment to reform, growth, fiscal prudence, and citizen-centric governance. With a special focus on Uttar Pradesh MSMEs, One District One Product initiatives, and large-scale employment generation, the budget is expected to catalyse economic progress and strengthen India’s position on the global stage.
Overall, the visionary budget reinforces the principle of “Nation First”, highlights Kartavya Bhawan’s new role, and provides comprehensive support for industrial growth, tourism, agriculture, digital initiatives, and fiscal reforms, establishing a roadmap for India’s sustainable development and prosperity in the years to come.
