  2. Technological Advancements: With cutting-edge DA-HF and DCDA process technologies, the facility promises enhanced efficiency, reduced dependency on imports, and a significant boost to India's fertilizer output.

  3. Environmental Commitment: Coromandel's investment not only promises economic growth but also emphasizes environmental sustainability, with measures to meet stringent standards and contribute to biodiversity conservation.

Coromandel International Limited, a prominent name in India's agricultural sector, has embarked on a groundbreaking journey towards self-sufficiency in fertilizer manufacturing. The company's latest endeavor involves the establishment of a Phosphoric Acid-Sulphuric Acid complex facility in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh. This ambitious project, inaugurated with a groundbreaking ceremony attended by Executive Chairman Mr. Arun Alagappan, signifies a significant milestone in Coromandel's quest to revolutionize the agricultural solutions landscape.

Technological Ingenuity:
The project, estimated at Rs 1000 crores, is designed to revolutionize Coromandel's backward integration capacities. Through innovative DA-HF (Dihydrate Attack-Hemihydrate Filtration) process technology and an automated DCS system, the proposed 650 ton per day (tpd) Phosphoric Acid facility promises to replace over 50% of the Kakinada plant's imported acid requirement, ensuring stable supplies for fertilizer manufacturing. Additionally, plans are underway to establish an 1800 tpd Sulphuric Acid Plant, further bolstering the company's captive needs and augmenting power generation from waste heat.

Environmental Stewardship:
The strategic expansion doesn't just stop at enhancing production capabilities; it aims to transform the Kakinada unit into a fully integrated complex, akin to Coromandel's existing facilities in Visakhapatnam and Ennore. Currently, these plants stand as pillars of India's fertilizer industry, contributing significantly to the nation's NPK fertilizer output. With the proposed expansion, Coromandel's Kakinada plant is poised to become the country's second-largest phosphatic fertilizer facility, cementing its position as an industry leader.

Beyond its economic implications, Coromandel's venture underscores a profound commitment to environmental sustainability. The project integrates advanced technologies from global partners such as M/s Prayon, Belgium, and M/s MECS, USA, ensuring compliance with stringent environmental standards. Mr. Thierry Marin, Vice President - Sales, MECS EMEA & India, affirmed the company's dedication to meeting emissions control regulations and production objectives, emphasizing the partnership's focus on environmental responsibility.
