In a shocking turn of events, Ranchi, the capital city of Jharkhand, witnessed a tragic incident unfold in a local bar situated in the vicinity of the prestigious Radisson Blu Hotel. The incident, caught on CCTV camera, revealed a harrowing scene as a semi-naked man wielding a rifle fatally shot a DJ within the establishment.

The victim, identified as DJ Sandeep from West Bengal, was employed on a performance wage basis at the bar. The altercation leading to his untimely demise reportedly stemmed from a clash between inebriated patrons, divided into two groups after a dispute, possibly over teasing girls. Ranchi Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Chandan Kumar Mishra confirmed that the confrontation escalated following a scuffle between the bar's bouncers and the customers, ultimately resulting in a barrage of gunfire inside the establishment.

The CCTV footage captured the accused, his face obscured by clothing, brandishing a high-tech rifle and firing at the victim from close range. After the fatal shooting, the assailant, shirtless and armed, moved away from the scene, leaving the victim collapsing from the gunshot wounds. The heinous nature of the crime and the brazenness of the attacker shocked the local community and drew widespread condemnation.

The incident has reignited concerns about the law and order situation in Jharkhand, with the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) seizing the opportunity to criticize the ruling Mahagathbandhan-led state government. BJP leader Pratul Shah Deo lambasted the government, highlighting the apparent failure of the police to prevent such a tragedy despite heightened vigilance due to the Model Code of Conduct being in effect. Deo's scathing remarks underscored the perceived lack of fear of law in the state and called for the immediate apprehension of the perpetrator, exposing what he deemed as shortcomings in the government and police administration's response to the incident.
