President Murmu, Rahul Gandhi, and Delhi LG Cast Their Votes

President Droupadi Murmu cast her vote at Dr Rajendra Prasad Kendriya Vidyalaya, President’s Estate, as part of the Delhi assembly polls. A day prior, Chief Electoral Officer R Alice Vaz had visited Rashtrapati Bhavan to hand over her voter’s slip.

Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, arrived at Nirman Bhawan to cast his vote, while Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, accompanied by his wife, voted at St. Xavier’s School, Raj Niwas Marg.

After voting, LG Saxena emphasized that Delhiites should consider critical issues such as pollution, garbage disposal, and Yamuna cleaning while making their electoral decision.

Union Ministers Jaishankar and Hardeep Singh Puri Vote

External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar, along with his wife Kyoko Jaishankar, voted at NDMC School of Science and Humanities, Tughlaq Crescent. Speaking to the media, he noted that Delhi’s electorate is in a mood for change.

Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, accompanied by his wife Lakshmi Puri, cast his vote at Mount Carmel School in Anand Niketan. After voting, Puri took a sharp jab at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), claiming that Delhi has been devastated by "AAP-da" in the past years and urging voters to restore the city’s lost glory.

AAP Leaders, Including Delhi CM Atishi, Cast Their Votes

Leaders from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), including Manish Sisodia, Gopal Rai, and Saurabh Bharadwaj, participated in the voting process.

Delhi CM Atishi cast her vote and made a powerful statement, calling the elections a "Dharmayuddha" (righteous war) between development-focused leaders and hooliganism-driven forces. She accused Delhi Police of openly supporting the BJP and expressed confidence that the electorate would vote based on governance rather than intimidation.

Chief Election Commissioner and Security Arrangements

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar also cast his vote at New Moti Bagh and acknowledged the efforts of polling officials, security forces, and civic bodies like MCD and NDMC in ensuring smooth elections. He reassured the public that the Election Commission (EC) is committed to fair and transparent elections, issuing strict instructions to maintain a level playing field.

Election Issues on Voters' Minds

The 2025 Delhi Assembly Elections come at a crucial time, with several key issues shaping voter sentiment:

  • Pollution Crisis – Delhi’s air quality continues to deteriorate, making environmental policies a top voter concern.
  • Waste Management – The capital struggles with mountains of garbage, prompting citizens to demand sustainable solutions.
  • Yamuna River Cleanup – The deteriorating condition of River Yamuna remains a major concern, with promises of rejuvenation influencing voter decisions.
  • Law and Order – Allegations of political bias in law enforcement have sparked debates over governance and accountability.

What’s Next?

As voting continues, political analysts and citizens eagerly await the final voter turnout figures. With AAP, BJP, and Congress locked in a three-way battle, the results will determine the future leadership of Delhi.
