In a shocking crime spree that unfolded in Delhi’s Adarsh Nagar, three scooter-borne miscreants went on a rampage, stabbing and looting at least five people, including a police constable, within a span of just one hour. The incident, which has left the local community in shock, occurred on the night of April 11, 2025, when the robbers took advantage of dark, isolated spots to target their victims.
The First Attack: Kewal Park
The first of the robberies occurred around Kewal Park in Adarsh Nagar. A young man was returning home from work when the three robbers on a scooter approached him. The miscreants stopped the victim, attempted to snatch his mobile phone and Rs 1,200 in cash. As they were about to carry out the robbery, a passing taxi driver witnessed the scene and tried to intervene, but the robbers attacked him with a knife. This brutal assault left the taxi driver injured, adding to the chaos.
The Attack on Police Constable
As the situation escalated, Delhi Police’s head constable, identified as SI Prempal Diwakar, happened to be passing by. Diwakar intervened in an attempt to stop the robbers. However, to everyone’s shock, the robbers showed no fear of the law and turned on the police constable as well. The miscreants stabbed him, and he was rushed immediately to Max Hospital in Shalimar Bagh, where his condition was reported to be critical. SI Prempal Diwakar, who is posted at the North East Zone Police Control Room (PCR), resides in Azadpur’s Mandir Wali Gali. His brave intervention, however, led to the unfortunate attack, putting the public's trust in the authorities to the test.
Further Attacks and Robberies
The violence didn’t end there. Just 15 minutes later, the robbers struck again, this time near Ramlila Park, located not far from the initial crime scene. In this incident, the robbers held two young men at knifepoint and snatched their bags and valuables. Within the next 15 minutes, they attacked a third victim, stealing his mobile phone and cash in yet another violent act.
CCTV Footage and Police Investigation
Police immediately began reviewing CCTV footage from the scenes of the crimes. The footage helped identify the faces of the suspects involved in the robberies. However, despite this, the accused have not been apprehended as of the latest updates. The police investigation is still ongoing, with authorities working hard to bring the criminals to justice.
Panic in Adarsh Nagar
The residents of Adarsh Nagar were left shaken by the terrifying chain of events, with many expressing concern about safety in the area. The brazen nature of the attack on a police constable, as well as the aggressive tactics used by the robbers, has sparked fears that crime is escalating in the locality.
As the investigation continues, the Delhi Police is urging anyone with information to come forward to assist in the arrest of the suspects. Prohibitory measures are expected to be imposed in the area, and additional patrols may be conducted to prevent further incidents.
Conclusion: A Growing Concern
This incident has highlighted the growing concerns about safety in Delhi, particularly when it comes to street crime. The brazen manner in which the robbers targeted and attacked multiple victims, including law enforcement personnel, has raised alarms about the rising fearlessness of criminals in the city. The authorities now face a critical challenge in securing the city and restoring public trust in the system.
The Delhi Police has promised swift action to ensure that the culprits are caught, and it is hoped that the investigation will bring the robbers to justice soon.
