A shocking double murder case has rocked Bihar’s Begusarai district, where the bodies of two brothers—19-year-old Aman Kumar and 16-year-old Chaman Kumar—were discovered in an open field, wrapped in plastic sheets and dumped in a horrifying manner. The incident has stirred public outcry and triggered a high-level police investigation.

The gruesome discovery was made on Monday evening at around 5 PM, when local labourers harvesting wheat in the Amarapur village area noticed two large plastic bundles lying suspiciously in a remote part of the field. Upon unwrapping the plastic, they were horrified to find the tied-up bodies of two young men. Panic and fear quickly spread throughout the village.

According to the Barauni Police, initial investigations suggest that the brothers were brutally beaten to death before their bodies were tied up, wrapped, and transported in a four-wheeler to the field located behind an under-construction housing colony called "Vastu Vihar". The crime scene was immediately cordoned off, and top officials including SSP Manish arrived with teams from multiple police stations, including Singhaul and Barauni, to take stock of the situation.

SSP Manish confirmed, “Preliminary signs point to a brutal beating. We suspect the victims were murdered elsewhere and the bodies were dumped here. A forensic team has been brought in to aid the investigation.” He added that a case has been registered, and multiple angles are being probed, including personal enmity, kidnapping, and involvement of known associates.

The victims were residents of Dadpur village, located under the Teyai OP police station limits. Their father, Vipin Kumar Chaudhary, had recently gifted the brothers a Swift Dzire car, which they took on Monday morning, claiming they were heading to Hasanpur in the Teghra police station area to visit a relative. After arriving there, they reportedly left the car and proceeded on a motorcycle, telling the relative they would return soon. However, they never came back.

The family started to worry when the owner of the motorcycle visited their home later that evening, asking about the brothers. When the family learned they had not returned the bike, they filed a missing persons report and began their own search, which tragically ended with the recovery of the bodies.

While the motive behind the crime is still under investigation, police are examining CCTV footage from nearby areas, tracing mobile phone locations, and interrogating possible suspects. The Swift Dzire car and motorcycle are also being examined for forensic evidence.

This brutal double murder has sent shockwaves across Begusarai and surrounding regions. Locals are fearful and demanding swift justice. Political and community leaders have called for a speedy resolution to the case and increased law enforcement presence in vulnerable areas.

Meanwhile, police have set up checkpoints, especially near highway routes and urban exit points, in a bid to prevent the culprits from escaping. SSP Manish has promised that “the perpetrators will not go unpunished,” and assured the public that all resources are being deployed to solve the case.

The violent nature of the murders and the methodical disposal of the bodies have raised serious concerns about organized criminal elements or personal vendettas. Authorities have urged anyone with information to come forward.

As the investigation progresses, Begusarai remains tense, with villagers mourning the loss and anxiously awaiting justice. The brothers were described as hard-working and well-liked in their community, and their deaths have left a void that cannot be filled.

This case serves as a grim reminder of rising violent crimes and the urgent need for community vigilance and stronger policing in semi-urban and rural areas of Bihar.
