The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has told the Supreme Court of India that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s entry into premises being searched during raids related to I-PAC amounted to a “gross abuse” of power. The agency alleged that her presence at the site constituted a show of force and resulted in the removal of documents and material that were under scrutiny.

The submission was made during proceedings before the apex court, where the ED described the manner of entry as a clear display of numerical strength and authority. According to the agency, documents and what it described as incriminating material were forcibly taken over and removed from the premises despite repeated objections by ED officers present at the site.

ED’s Allegations in Court
