The snowfall this year has been unusually heavy, with snow accumulation reaching 10 to 20 feet in some areas, significantly hindering the progress of these operations. Despite the challenges, authorities are determined to clear the paths well in advance, ensuring that the routes are safe for the millions of pilgrims who are expected to make the sacred journey.

In a visit to Pantha Chowk, the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, took stock of the Yatra preparations, ensuring that everything is on track. Security measures are also a major focus, especially in light of the recent Pahalgam attack. However, the spirit of the devotees remains unshaken, with over 360,000 pilgrims already registered, and this number is expected to rise significantly as the date draws closer.

The Amarnath Yatra, which runs from July 3 to August 19, coinciding with Raksha Bandhan, is one of the most significant spiritual events in India, attracting devotees from across the nation.
