The first look of the highly anticipated Telugu-language film Rao Bahadur has been officially unveiled, sparking excitement among cinema enthusiasts. The makers revealed the poster on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, showcasing actor Satyadev Kancharana in a royal and dignified avatar. The film is being backed by South superstar Mahesh Babu and Namrata Shirodkar under their banner GMB Entertainment, in association with other production houses.
Rao Bahadur is written, directed, and edited by Venkatesh Maha, a filmmaker known for his unique storytelling style. The movie is produced by Chinta Gopalakrishna Reddy, Anurag Reddy, and Sharath Chandra. It is slated for a Summer 2026 release, promising a grand cinematic experience for Telugu cinema audiences.
The first look poster features Satyadev in an elderly yet royal persona, complete with a majestic turban, pearl necklaces, and ornate rings. His attire is adorned with peacock feathers and vine designs, adding to the regal aura. The poster also contains intricate artwork, including tiny depictions of children playing, which may hint at symbolic or narrative elements in the film.
Prior to the poster release, the makers had shared a teaser glimpse on social media with the caption: Stop decoding.. It’s Super @urstrulymahesh MB Presents #RB Clearing all your “Anumaanam” with our First Look tomorrow. A @venkateshmaha Film! Second time lucky with my Maha! Proudly brought to you by @gmbents @aplussmovies @srichakraasents @mahayana_motionpictures. This teaser fueled speculation about the storyline and character details, which are still being kept under wraps.
On the work front, Satyadev Kancharana has carved a niche for himself in both Telugu and Hindi cinema. Known for his versatility, he has delivered memorable performances in films like Bluff Master, Uma Maheswara Ugra Roopasya, Godfather, and Ram Setu. Recently, he appeared in Amazon Prime Video’s series Arabia Kadali and was also part of Vijay Deverakonda’s prison drama Kingdom.
The collaboration between Mahesh Babu’s GMB Entertainment and Venkatesh Maha signals a project with high creative ambition. The unique costume design, the royal theme, and the vintage touch suggest that Rao Bahadur could explore a historical or period drama narrative, though the makers have yet to confirm the storyline.
With the first look now out, anticipation for Rao Bahadur is set to grow in the months leading up to its Summer 2026 release. Fans are particularly intrigued to see Satyadev in this majestic avatar, marking a departure from his previous modern and intense roles. As the promotions pick up, audiences can expect more glimpses into the film’s world, possibly through teasers and motion posters in the near future.
Given the production team’s track record, the direction of Venkatesh Maha, and Satyadev’s acting prowess, Rao Bahadur has the potential to be one of the most talked-about releases in Telugu cinema next year.
