In a major breakthrough, the Mumbai Police have arrested five individuals in connection with the murder of Baba Siddique, a senior leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), who was shot dead on October 12, 2024. Among those arrested is Shiv Kumar Gautam, the main shooter, who has admitted that the instructions for the killing came from Anmol Bishnoi, the brother of the notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, currently jailed. This revelation uncovers a deeper plot orchestrated by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which had targeted both Baba Siddique and his son Zeeshan Siddique, a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA), as potential victims. The gang’s directive was to eliminate whichever individual was encountered first, leading to the tragic death of Baba Siddique.

According to reports, Shiv Kumar Gautam stated during his interrogation that the murder was part of a larger plan devised by Anmol Bishnoi to target high-profile figures in the region. The Mumbai Crime Branch has so far arrested 23 people in connection with the crime, shedding light on the gang’s operations and their calculated attempts to assassinate political leaders.

The murder of Baba Siddique has sent shockwaves through the political community, as the NCP leader was a well-known figure in Mumbai's political circles. The responsibility for carrying out this second killing was reportedly assigned to the same shooters involved in the Baba Siddique murder.
