Latest update on Bengaluru Rameshwaram Cafe blast: Security measures have been increased across Karnataka, with a particular focus on enhancing safety at the Kempegowda International Airport. This action comes in the wake of the explosion in the Brookefield area, situated in the Information Technology corridor in East Bengaluru.

In the aftermath of the low-intensity bomb blast at Rameshwaram Cafe in Bengaluru's Brookfield area, the police have taken significant steps to investigate the incident and ensure public safety. Here are the latest developments:

  1. The Bengaluru Police have registered a case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and Explosives Substances Act in connection with the blast at Rameshwaram Cafe, a popular quick-service eatery.

  2. The Central Crime Branch is currently interrogating four individuals detained in Dharwad, Hubballi, and Bengaluru in connection with the Rameshwaram Cafe blast.

  3. Security measures have been heightened across Karnataka, especially at Kempegowda International Airport, following the explosion in the Information Technology corridor of east Bengaluru. Delhi Police have also increased security measures in response to the incident.

  4. CCTV footage from Rameshwaram Cafe captured the movements of the suspect, who entered the premises, bought food, and left a bag before the blast. The suspect's activities are under investigation, with the Chief Minister expressing confidence in identifying the culprit.

  5. The investigation includes analyzing footage from public transport buses in Bengaluru to identify the suspect's movements, utilizing the cameras installed on BMTC buses.

  6. Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara emphasized that an in-depth investigation is underway, exploring all angles to determine the cause of the bomb blast. It is currently unclear whether an organization or an individual is involved.

  7. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced that the government will cover all treatment charges for the injured victims of the blast, with around 10 individuals currently receiving medical care.

  8. Siddaramaiah urged the opposition not to politicize the matter, emphasizing the ongoing serious investigation. He clarified that the Mangalore blast and Bengaluru explosion are unrelated, and appropriate action will be taken based on the investigation report.

  9. The Chief Minister called for a meeting with senior police officers to discuss the blast incident at Rameshwaram Cafe.

  10. National Investigation Agency (NIA) and National Security Guard (NSG) teams have joined the local police in the investigation, sharing crucial inputs. Bengaluru's Commissioner of Police assured the public that the investigation is progressing, urging the media to refrain from speculation and cooperate due to the sensitivity and security concerns surrounding the case.
