Frontier Springs Limited, a Kanpur-based manufacturer of railway springs and components, has announced the receipt of significant orders aggregating Rs 292.6 crore (inclusive of GST) from the Rail Coach Factory (RCF), Kapurthala and Modern Coach Factory (MCF), Raebareli. These orders are for the supply of air spring assemblies, a critical component used in Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) coaches of the Indian Railways.
According to the company's official disclosure to BSE Limited, the purchase orders represent a strong reaffirmation of its status as a reliable and trusted supplier to the Indian Railways. The products ordered include Air Spring Assembly (160 KN) units conforming to RDSO specification RDSO/CG/S/23002, designed for use in FIAT bogies of LHB coaches.
The total order value stands at Rs 292.6 crore, and the orders are expected to be executed in scheduled phases over the next few quarters. A significant portion of the order has already been formalised through Purchase Order No. 01251054100728 dated 27 May 2025 from RCF Kapurthala, which alone accounts for Rs 34.61 crore. The delivery is set to commence from 2 June 2025, with the final delivery slated for 15 October 2025.

The company is required to deliver the assemblies to RCF's Shell Depot. The order includes clauses such as statutory variation, an optional clause for 30 percent order quantity variation, and standard IRS conditions of contract. Payments will be made via RTGS/NEFT, with 95 percent paid upon inspection and dispatch and 5 percent after successful receipt and acceptance.
The components must meet stringent quality and packing standards, including third-party inspection by Bureau Veritas and QR-coded traceability for each unit. Non-compliance with packing and coding instructions may result in rejection of the supplied material.
The orders from RCF Kapurthala and MCF Raebareli are expected to provide a robust boost to the company's financial performance in the coming quarters and significantly enhance its order book. This also cements Frontier Springs' leadership position in the manufacturing of suspension systems for rolling stock in India.
