It is responsible for contributing to 14% of deaths and disabilities resulting from conditions like subarachnoid hemorrhage.

While there has been a decline in stroke deaths across Europe, the global trend tells a different story, indicating an increase in stroke cases and deaths in many regions. This highlights the urgent need to address modifiable risk factors such as air quality and lifestyle choices to reduce the overall stroke burden worldwide.
