In a major relief for devotees planning to attend Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, the Goa government has announced three special trains from Margao to Prayagraj, offering free travel and food for pilgrims. The initiative is being conducted under the Mukhyamantri Dev Darshan Yojana.

Train Schedule and Route

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant confirmed that these trains will depart from Margao railway station in South Goa on the following dates:

• February 6 at 8 AM
• February 13
• February 21

Each train will exclusively ferry passengers between Goa and Prayagraj, ensuring a smooth journey for pilgrims attending the Maha Kumbh 2025.

Free Travel and Food for Devotees

State Social Welfare Minister Subhash Phal Desai announced that both travel and food will be provided free of cost during the journey. The train journey will take approximately 34 hours to reach Prayagraj.

However, once they arrive at the destination, devotees will have to arrange their own accommodation and food during their stay.

Return Journey and Eligibility

• Return Journey: Devotees must board the return train from Prayagraj within 24 hours after arrival.
• Eligibility: Only adults aged 18 to 60 without major health issues can avail of this facility.

The Maha Kumbh is one of the largest religious gatherings in the world, attracting millions of devotees from across the country. The Goa government’s initiative aims to facilitate travel for those who might otherwise struggle with transportation costs.
