Despite the film's high pre-sales figures, amounting to Rs 65 crore, and initial expectations of surpassing Rs 90 crore on its first day, "GOAT" fell short of this projection. The film was released across 5000 screens in India, covering Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi versions. While the Tamil version of "GOAT" brought in nearly Rs 38 crore, and the Telugu version earned Rs 3 crore, the Hindi version struggled, grossing only Rs 1.7 crore.

The film's performance contrasts sharply with Vijay's previous blockbuster, "Leo", which had an opening worldwide gross of Rs 145 crore. "GOAT" has reportedly made $5 million in North America, but its overall worldwide gross is estimated to be around Rs 60 crore.

The mixed reviews and varied audience reception have contributed to the film's inconsistent performance. Nevertheless, "GOAT" marks a significant achievement with its record-setting Tamil opening and remains a significant release in Vijay's filmography.
