During a meeting with Export Promotion Councils (EPCs) and industry associations, the minister praised exporters for their optimism in turning global uncertainties into new opportunities. He emphasized that the government is working tirelessly to safeguard national interests while boosting India’s merchandise and services exports.

Government’s Push for Stronger Trade Relations

Highlighting the significance of bilateral trade agreements, Mr. Goyal confirmed that negotiations on multiple FTAs are in their final stages. These agreements aim to provide better opportunities for Indian exporters, increase foreign investment, and enhance India’s trade footprint worldwide.

He also encouraged industry leaders to shift away from protectionist mindsets and adopt a more aggressive global approach. India’s export industry is on track to surpass Rs. 69,50,400 crore (US$ 800 billion) in exports this year, driven by robust performance in services and merchandise trade. While the services sector continues to play a pivotal role in driving export revenue, the minister urged merchandise exporters to expand their international reach to tap into new markets.
