Kolkata-based infrastructure major GPT Infraprojects Limited (GPTINFRA) has announced a significant contract win valued at ₹351 crore for the construction of a new cable-stayed bridge over the Chambal River, as part of the prestigious Agra–Gwalior Greenfield Highway Project.
In a regulatory disclosure dated July 21, 2025, GPTINFRA confirmed the contract has been awarded by Agra Gwalior Highway Private Limited, a private project development entity. The scope of work involves the construction of a major bridge, including a cable-stayed structure, which will be a critical part of the upcoming high-speed Greenfield highway corridor between Agra and Gwalior.
There is no interest or involvement of the promoter, promoter group, or any group company in the deal, and it does not qualify as a Related Party Transaction, as per the company's filing. The company also noted that there are no significant special conditions attached to the contract.
This new win significantly boosts GPTINFRA’s order pipeline. As of this announcement, the total order inflow for Fiscal 2026 stands at ₹396 crore, and the company’s outstanding order book has now surged to ₹3,852.65 crore, underscoring robust demand and execution strength.
GPT Infraprojects, incorporated in 1980 and headquartered in Salt Lake, Kolkata, operates through two major verticals: Infrastructure and Sleeper. The company has earned a strong reputation for executing railway bridges, road overbridges (ROBs), and large civil infrastructure projects, particularly for government contracts.
In the Infrastructure segment, GPTINFRA is focused on railway-centric projects and road-based development, often participating in high-value government tenders across India. The Sleeper segment manufactures and supplies concrete sleepers for railway tracks both in India and overseas, with a remarkable presence in South Africa, Namibia, and Ghana. The company’s manufacturing units are located in Panagarh (West Bengal), Ladysmith (South Africa), Tsumeb (Namibia), and Eshiem (Ghana).
Notably, GPTINFRA is India's only company with a multi-country presence in the sleeper manufacturing business, giving it a strategic advantage in both domestic and international markets.
The company's executive leadership, under the guidance of Executive Director & CFO Atul Tantia, has been actively steering it toward a strong project acquisition strategy. With this ₹351 crore order, GPTINFRA is reinforcing its position as a leading player in the bridges and structural infrastructure segment of the country.
This win also aligns with India’s broader infrastructure expansion goals under initiatives like Bharatmala Pariyojana and Gati Shakti, which focus on improving road and highway connectivity through modern engineering and public-private partnerships.
