US President Donald Trump’s call to take over Gaza and resettle Palestinians outside the territory has sparked outrage across the Middle East. Hamas has issued a strong statement rejecting the proposal, calling it an attempt to create “chaos and tension in the region.” Similarly, Saudi Arabia has reaffirmed its unwavering support for an independent Palestinian state, further complicating ongoing negotiations between the US, Israel, and Saudi Arabia.

Hamas Condemns Trump's Statement

Hamas responded sharply to Trump’s remarks, stating that Gaza residents will not leave their land and accusing the US of rewarding Israel instead of holding it accountable for alleged war crimes. A spokesperson for Hamas stated:

“We reject Trump's statements in which he said that the residents of the Gaza Strip have no choice but to leave, and we consider them a recipe for creating chaos and tension in the region.”

Hamas continues to hold Israel responsible for the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and believes that any attempt to force Palestinians out would escalate tensions further.

Saudi Arabia Reiterates Support for Palestine

In a separate statement, Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Ministry reaffirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to the Palestinian cause. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman stated that:

“Saudi Arabia will not stop its tireless work towards the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, and that the kingdom will not establish diplomatic relations with Israel without that.”

This statement comes at a time when Saudi Arabia and the US are negotiating a diplomatic deal that could include Saudi recognition of Israel in exchange for security agreements and economic benefits. However, Saudi Arabia has consistently maintained that it will not establish formal ties with Israel unless the Palestinian issue is resolved.

Trump's Controversial Remarks and Their Impact

Donald Trump’s announcement that the US will “take over” Gaza, “own it,” and implement economic development projects has drawn intense criticism. His remarks raise concerns over US foreign policy in the Middle East and its role in the Israel-Palestine conflict. Many political analysts see this as an attempt to strengthen US-Israel ties while disregarding Palestinian sovereignty.

Saudi Arabia’s rejection of Trump’s idea signals a potential hurdle in ongoing diplomatic negotiations, as it reinforces its firm stance on Palestine. Meanwhile, Hamas and other Palestinian groups remain steadfast in their opposition to any external intervention in Gaza’s governance.
