The company, in partnership with Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) and Aerial Telecom Solutions Private Limited, has been declared the Lowest Bidder for a bid worth ₹6,925 Crores. This bid focuses on providing a middle-mile network in the Uttar Pradesh (East) and Uttar Pradesh (West) regions under the Government of India’s BharatNet Phase III program. This massive initiative is aligned with the government’s vision of bridging the digital divide, especially in underserved rural areas.
In addition to the consortium bid, HFCL has independently emerged as the top bidder for the Punjab circle with a bid of ₹1,244 Crores. Both bids also include significant Operation & Maintenance (O&M) orders valued at ₹4,155 Crores for the consortium and ₹746 Crores for HFCL’s standalone Punjab project, ensuring long-term engagement in the project’s maintenance phase.
The BharatNet Phase III aims to extend high-speed broadband connectivity to more than 250,000 gram panchayats (GPs) across the country, supporting the government’s ‘Digital India’ initiative. The program targets a minimum bandwidth of 100 Mbps at each GP, enabling services like e-health, e-education, and e-governance. This phase of the project is expected to link all 640,000 villages in India with robust fiber-optic networks, transforming rural connectivity.
