A cloudburst wreaked havoc in the Lagghati region of Kullu district in the early hours of Tuesday, sweeping away roads, houses and vehicles and leaving residents in a state of panic. The incident occurred at approximately 1:30 am, when a sudden, intense downpour struck the remote village and nearby Bhubu and surrounding hamlets, triggering flash floods and debris flow down the hillsides.
Visuals from the scene show a completely wrecked hillside road, strewn with heavy boulders and mud while a nearby stream is seen flowing violently in full spate.
Despite the extent of damage, no loss of life has been reported so far, according to local officials.
Authorities say it may take several hours to fully assess the situation due to the extreme remoteness of the area, which has made access difficult for rescue and assessment teams.
