Mr. Edward Delahaye, Airbus's head of customer accounts for India and South Asia, forecasts India's ascent as a global aviation hub within the next 15 years.

With around 800 commercial aircraft currently in operation, primarily sourced from Airbus, India's aviation sector is witnessing remarkable growth, propelled by factors such as the expansion of domestic air traffic, GDP growth, and initiatives to regain international air traffic.

Mr. Delahaye underscores the necessity for enhanced airport connectivity in India, particularly to facilitate seamless passenger transitions between domestic and international flights. He emphasizes the significance of efficient airport operations akin to those observed in Singapore or Doha.

Expressing confidence in India's aviation potential, Mr. Delahaye points to substantial aircraft orders placed by major carriers like IndiGo and Air India as evidence of the country's escalating influence in the industry.

Envisioning India as a pivotal player in global aviation in the forthcoming years, he highlights the expansion of airport infrastructure as a crucial step in positioning the country as a vital connecting hub on a global scale.

Additionally, he speculates on potential competition from carriers in West Asia and the feasibility of extending connectivity to regions such as Central Asia or the Pacific.
