During the inauguration, Scindia emphasized the goals of the Bharat 6G Alliance, which aims to contribute at least 10% of patents to the global 6G standardization process. He remarked on the rapid rollout of 5G in India, achieving impressive coverage metrics: 98% of districts and 90% of villages have access within just 21 months. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of positioning India as a first mover in 6G technology was a focal point of the minister's address. Scindia noted the importance of both the Indian Mobile Congress and the International 6G Symposium in showcasing significant advancements in 6G and establishing the design principles that will guide future telecommunications.

In addition to the focus on 6G, Scindia pointed out the recent amendments to the Telecommunications Act 2023, aimed at modernizing India's telecom framework. The IMC 2024 is expected to draw significant participation, with over 400 exhibitors, nearly 900 startups, and representatives from more than 120 countries.
