Union Home Minister Amit Shah, during a fiery public address in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, asserted that India will be entirely free of Naxalism by March 31, 2026. At the same time, he took sharp aim at the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) government, accusing them of prioritizing party cadre over the state’s development.

He said while both the BJP and CPI(M) are cadre-based political outfits, the BJP holds “Viksit Keralam above cadre”, unlike CPI(M), which, according to him, puts cadre welfare before Kerala’s growth. The statement comes as part of the BJP’s continued efforts to expand its presence in the southern state, which has been traditionally dominated by the CPI(M) and the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF).

India To Be Naxal-Free By March 2026

In a significant national security statement, Amit Shah said,

“India will be free of Naxalism by March 31, 2026.”
This promise comes as part of the BJP's broader vision of ensuring internal security, especially in historically Naxal-affected states such as Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Odisha, and parts of Maharashtra. Under Modi’s leadership, Shah claimed that violent Naxalite incidents have drastically reduced, and final eradication is now within reach.

Amit Shah did not mince words when addressing the alleged corruption in the LDF government, calling it a “record-breaking corrupt regime.” He listed multiple scams, including:

• Explosives scam

• Cooperative bank scam

• AI camera scam

• Life Mission housing scam

• PPE kit procurement scam

• State-sponsored gold smuggling case, which Shah labeled as “India’s biggest scam.”

He further stated that Kerala cannot hope for any development while under the rule of either the LDF or UDF, both of which he accused of being deeply entrenched in corruption, nepotism, and inefficiency.

‘Congress Is A Dying Party’

Shah reserved scathing criticism for the Congress, saying:

“Congress is no less. They are a party that’s going to shut down soon.”

He emphasized that both LDF and UDF have failed Kerala, and only a BJP-led NDA government can bring transformative governance to the state.

Modi’s Vision For Viksit Kerala

The Union Home Minister outlined PM Modi’s three-point development agenda for Kerala:

1. Corruption-free governance

2. No discrimination in welfare schemes

3. Development above politics

Shah said this framework is essential for achieving “Viksit Kerala”, a fully developed and prosperous state.

BJP Kerala Headquarters Inauguration

Earlier in the day, Amit Shah inaugurated the new state headquarters of the BJP in Kerala, situated in Thiruvananthapuram. The event was attended by several key leaders, including Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Union Minister and the state BJP president.

During the inauguration, Shah praised the contribution and sacrifices of BJP karyakartas, saying:

“Kerala is a sacred land, for it is where a great soul like Sri Adi Shankaracharya was born. I salute all our workers who upheld BJP’s ideology under challenging conditions.”

The new BJP office is seen as a symbol of the party’s growing ambition in the state, which has so far eluded electoral success at the assembly level, despite increasing vote shares.
