This partnership aims to integrate advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Virtual Reality (VR), and Mixed Reality (MR) into the Skill India ecosystem, which is crucial for providing personalized learning pathways and democratizing access to modern educational tools.

AI Assistant for Skill India Mission
One of the major components of this collaboration is the development of an AI Assistant tailored for the Skill India Mission. This initiative includes the creation of an AI-powered chatbot using Meta’s open-source Llama model. The chatbot is designed to enhance the Skill India Digital (SID) Portal, providing users with 24/7 support.

Available through WhatsApp in multiple languages, including English, Hindi, and Hinglish, this AI Assistant will assist users in various ways. It will help individuals locate nearby skilling centres, search for course topics, explore job listings, and access interactive course content. Furthermore, it will offer valuable analytics to optimize the user experience on the platform.

Sarvam AI has been appointed as the technical partner for this initiative, overseeing the development and deployment of the chatbot during a 6-month pilot phase. This partnership aims to make skill training more accessible and efficient, bridging the gap between learners and the resources they need.

Centres of Excellence (CoEs) in VR and MR
In addition to the AI Assistant, the collaboration will establish five Centres of Excellence (CoEs) in Virtual Reality (VR) and Mixed Reality (MR). These CoEs will be located at National Skill Training Institutes (NSTIs) in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Jodhpur, Chennai, and Kanpur. Equipped with state-of-the-art VR technology, these centres will provide immersive learning experiences that enhance skill development training.

The CoEs will enable learners and instructors to develop and refine their skills in engaging and realistic environments. By incorporating advanced simulations, the CoEs will significantly increase student engagement and accessibility to skill training. Skillveri, the technical partner for these CoEs, will supply cutting-edge VR and MR resources, curriculum, and training for both learners and instructors, ensuring that the programs are up-to-date and relevant.

This collaboration aligns seamlessly with India’s AI Mission, which aims to foster a collaborative e-governance framework for implementing impactful AI solutions.
