YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) chief and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has strongly condemned the arrest of P.V. Midhun Reddy, a three-time Member of Parliament, in connection with the ongoing Andhra Pradesh liquor scam investigation.

Taking a direct swipe at Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Jagan pointed out that Naidu himself is out on bail in a case relating to the liquor policy formulated during his 2014–2019 tenure.

“Naidu has no moral right to question our reforms,” Jagan said, adding that the TDP-led coalition has revived old corrupt practices, including belt shops, illegal liquor outlets, and sales above MRP. He accused Naidu of colluding with “yellow media” to create a false narrative against YSRCP leaders.

Claims of Political Vendetta

Jagan alleged that the NDA government is resorting to political vendetta to distract from its own failures and scams. According to him, the liquor scam investigation is being used as a tool to “jail YSRCP leaders indefinitely, even before the trial process begins.”

“This is not a legal investigation but a political witch-hunt,” Jagan stated, asserting that once the trial begins, the truth about the fabricated case will emerge.
