  • Jagan Mohan Reddy condemned the attack on former MLA Prasanna Kumar, calling it a sign of rising violence under TDP rule.

  • He accused the TDP regime of lawlessness, citing three murders, six attempted murders and twelve assaults in a short span.

  • The YSRCP chief demanded accountability and warned of deteriorating law and order in Andhra Pradesh.

Amaravati, July 9, 2025: YSR Congress Party president and former Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday strongly condemned the attack on former MLA Prasanna Kumar, accusing the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) of orchestrating violence across Andhra Pradesh.

In a sharp statement, Jagan alleged that the TDP government had become synonymous with lawlessness, warning that the state’s security situation was rapidly deteriorating.

“The TDP regime has led to three murders, six attempted murders and twelve assaults in a short span,” Jagan said, describing the figures as alarming evidence of the government's failure to maintain order.

He demanded a thorough investigation into the attack on Prasanna Kumar and called for those responsible to be brought to justice without delay.

Jagan’s comments come amid heightened political tensions in Andhra Pradesh, with the YSRCP accusing the TDP of targeting opposition leaders and workers through violence and intimidation.

The former Chief Minister also appealed to the public to see through what he termed the ruling party’s divisive tactics, saying that the government was resorting to “violence and fear” instead of governance.

Meanwhile, the TDP has denied the allegations, calling them politically motivated and insisting that law and order are under control. The ruling party has accused the YSRCP of trying to deflect from its own failures while in power.

Analysts say the clash of accusations marks an intensification of the political battle in Andhra Pradesh, with both sides trading blame over recent incidents of violence and tensions rising ahead of local elections.
