JSW Energy Achieves 20 GW Locked-in Generation Capacity
JSW Energy has reached a significant milestone, securing 445 MW of renewable energy (RE) projects in the Commercial and Industrial (C&I) power market, which brings its total locked-in generation capacity to 20 GW. This achievement aligns with the company’s long-term vision to lead in sustainable energy production while addressing the growing demand for clean energy solutions.
The company’s locked-in C&I RE capacity now stands at 3.1 GW, which includes 2,654 MW of JSW Group captive capacity and 445 MW of third-party C&I capacity. Presently, JSW Energy operates 488 MW of C&I power, reinforcing its execution capabilities and dedication to meeting industrial energy demands sustainably.
Strategic Partnerships Bolster Renewable Energy Growth
In recent advancements, JSW Energy’s subsidiaries have entered power purchase agreements (PPAs) with DCM Shriram Ltd and Indus Towers Ltd. These partnerships reflect the company’s strategic focus on renewable energy development in the industrial sector, driving progress toward a carbon-neutral future.

Operational and Future Capacity Goals
JSW Energy’s current operational capacity is 7.7 GW, spread across thermal (3,508 MW), hydro (1,391 MW), wind (2,166 MW), and solar (675 MW) energy assets. The company has set ambitious targets, aiming to achieve 10 GW of operational capacity by FY 2025 and expanding its energy storage capacity to 40 GWh by 2030. With its current 16.2 GWh locked-in energy storage capacity, including battery energy storage systems and hydro pumped storage projects, JSW Energy is laying a solid foundation for future growth.
