Gandhi confirmed that he had been in touch with the Home Minister and Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah, along with Tariq Karra, the J&K Congress president, to get updates on the situation. Gandhi called for immediate accountability from the government and questioned the narrative of normalcy being promoted in Jammu and Kashmir by the ruling party. He stated that the Pahalgam attack was a "blot on humanity" and should be met with a strong response.
