The Madras Motor Sports Club (MMSC) announced that it will host India’s first-ever international karting competition, the FIA-CIK Arrive and Drive, at the Madras International Karting Arena (MIKA) in September 2026.
MMSC vice-president Vicky Chandhok revealed that this meet will be one of three rounds in the series, attracting karters from around the globe. “It is the first of its kind in India,” he said during the club’s annual awards function on Thursday, where 2025 National Racing Championship winners were also honoured.
MRF Formula 2000 Champion to Get Global Exposure
In a major boost for young racers, the winner of the 2025 MRF Formula 2000 championship will be awarded an all-expenses paid test drive with the Double R Formula 3 team, run by former F1 champion Kimi Raikkonen and Steve Robertson.
Chandhok highlighted that this opportunity is a significant step up for the MRF F2000 champion, providing experience and exposure on the international motorsports stage.
MRF Ltd. Reinforces Commitment to Motorsports
Arun Mammen, vice-chairman and MD of MRF Ltd., emphasised the company’s ongoing support for Indian motorsports across various disciplines.
“We will continue to make motorsports more popular in India. The government is taking steps to host world-class events,” he said.
He also underlined MRF’s capability to test and develop tyres rapidly, thanks to a specialised testing facility with multiple tracks — the only such facility in India.
