Amaravati, July 9, 2025: Nara Bhuvaneswari has strongly condemned the derogatory remarks made against Kovvur MLA Prashanthi Reddy, calling them unacceptable in any civilised society.

In a statement posted on social media platform X, Bhuvaneswari expressed unwavering solidarity with the MLA and criticised the use of offensive language in political discourse.

"Such language has no place in a civilised society," she wrote, underlining the need for mutual respect even amid political disagreements.

The remarks against Prashanthi Reddy have sparked criticism from various quarters, with many leaders and supporters rallying behind her. Bhuvaneswari’s statement adds weight to the growing calls for dignified debate in the state’s political arena.

Observers note that the issue has highlighted the persistent problem of personal attacks and derogatory language in Andhra Pradesh politics. Political leaders across party lines have been urged to set higher standards of public dialogue and ensure respectful engagement.

Bhuvaneswari, known for her firm stance on maintaining decorum in politics, appealed to everyone to condemn such language unequivocally. She emphasised that personal insults have no place in democratic exchange, and that women in politics, in particular, should not be subjected to gendered or abusive comments.

The condemnation is being seen as part of a wider effort to promote civility in political debates in Andhra Pradesh at a time when public discourse has increasingly turned personal and hostile.

Political analysts say that such statements from senior leaders could help set the tone for a more respectful and issue-based debate, and reinforce the message that democratic disagreement must never cross the line into personal abuse.
