Ola Electric, one of India's leading electric vehicle (EV) manufacturers, has introduced its Gen 3 S1 portfolio, bringing significant upgrades and new models for both mass-market and premium consumers. The flagship of this launch is the S1 Pro+, available in 5.3kWh and 4kWh battery variants, offering powerful performance and an extended range. With a 13 kW motor, the S1 Pro+ delivers top speeds of 141 km/h for the 5.3kWh version, and 128 km/h for the 4kWh model, along with remarkable acceleration from 0-40 kmph in just 2.1 seconds for the higher capacity variant. The S1 Pro variants also offer impressive performance, with top speeds reaching 125 km/h for the 4kWh version, and a range of 242 km (IDC) for the higher battery variant. In addition to these high-performance models, the S1 X range introduces more affordable options, with prices starting at ₹79,999 for the 2kWh version. The S1 X comes in three different battery capacities (2kWh, 3kWh, 4kWh), making it a great choice for consumers looking for an affordable yet reliable electric scooter. This series offers a top speed of 123 km/h for the 4kWh model, and an impressive range of 242 km (IDC). The S1 X models also come with advanced features like a 4.3-inch colour-segmented display, making it both practical and stylish.

Gen 3 Platform Advancements

Ola Electric's Gen 3 platform offers several key advancements over its predecessor. The company reports a 20% increase in peak power, 11% reduction in cost, and a 20% increase in range. This platform introduces category-first features such as dual ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) and brake-by-wire technology, enhancing safety and performance. The brake-by-wire technology is particularly notable as it applies brakes dynamically based on the brake position sensor, ensuring smoother and more efficient braking. This system also improves energy recovery by 15%, making the Gen 3 scooters more efficient than ever.

MoveOS 5 and Extended Warranty

Another exciting development is the roll-out of MoveOS 5 beta starting mid-February 2025. This software update will bring a host of new features, including the Smartwatch App, Smart Park, Bharat Mood, Road Trip Mode, and Emergency SOS for enhanced connectivity and safety.

For those concerned about long-term ownership, the Gen 3 scooters come with a warranty of 3 years or 40,000 km for the scooter, and a 3-year/40,000 km warranty for the battery. For those looking for extra peace of mind, the company also offers an extended battery warranty for up to 8 years or 1,25,000 km at a nominal cost of ₹14,999.

With these new developments, Ola Electric continues to push the boundaries of EV technology. The Gen 3 S1 scooters offer the perfect blend of affordability, advanced performance, and safety features, catering to both new and experienced electric vehicle users.

Additionally, Ola Electric is expanding its product range with the Roadster motorcycle series, available in three versions: Roadster X, Roadster, and Roadster Pro. Prices for these motorcycles start from ₹74,999.
