The company registered 24,341 units in January 2025, marking a massive 76.4% month-on-month growth in vehicle registrations, according to VAHAN data. This surge in registrations further solidifies Ola Electric’s position as the market leader in the EV 2W segment.

A Strong Start to 2025
Ola Electric’s impressive growth is largely driven by its strong S1 portfolio and the continued expansion of its sales and service network. With more than 4,000 stores across India, the company is now well-positioned to cater to a broader customer base, including those in tier-1 and tier-2 cities. The company’s recent launch of its Gen 3 portfolio has introduced new standards in performance and reliability, establishing Ola Electric as the go-to brand in the EV industry.

In a statement, a company spokesperson highlighted the significant achievement, “It has been an impressive start to the year for us as we emerged as a clear leader in the EV 2W industry yet again. With our recently launched Gen-3 portfolio, we have set new benchmarks in performance, safety, and reliability.”

The Gen 3 Portfolio and Its Impact
The Gen 3 portfolio from Ola Electric has garnered attention for its advanced features and competitive pricing. The flagship models, S1 Pro+ and S1 Pro, are priced at ₹1,69,999 and ₹1,34,999, respectively, with various other options available for customers across different budget ranges. The S1 X range, starting at ₹79,999, also offers a more affordable option for entry-level buyers.

The Gen 3 scooters come equipped with a mid-drive motor and chain drive for improved performance and reliability, along with an integrated Motor Control Unit (MCU) that optimizes range and efficiency. Compared to the previous Gen 2 models, the Gen 3 scooters offer a 20% increase in peak power, an 11% reduction in cost, and a 4% increase in energy efficiency. One standout feature of the new scooters is the dual ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), which is a category-first for EVs, ensuring superior safety and control in all riding conditions. Additionally, the scooters are equipped with brake-by-wire technology, which applies brakes dynamically based on sensor readings and enhances energy recovery by up to 15%.

New Features and MoveOS 5
Ola Electric has also announced the rollout of MoveOS 5 beta starting mid-February. The new operating system introduces a host of exciting features, including the Smartwatch App, Smart Park, and Road Trip Mode powered by Ola Maps. The Smartwatch App will allow users to track their scooter’s status, while Smart Park will assist in parking the vehicle in tight spaces. Road Trip Mode powered by Ola Maps will provide turn-by-turn navigation, while Live Location Sharing and Emergency SOS will ensure greater safety and convenience for riders.

Ola Electric continues to innovate with the launch of its new Gig and S1 Z scooter range, designed for both personal and commercial use. These new scooters are equipped with removable batteries and provide affordable solutions for customers in rural, semi-urban, and urban regions. Additionally, the company launched its Roadster motorcycle series, offering segment-first technology and performance features, with options ranging from 2.5 kWh to 16 kWh in battery capacity.

Ola Electric’s Vision for the Future
Ola Electric’s continued dominance in the EV 2W segment is a clear reflection of the company’s vision to lead India’s transition towards electric mobility and #EndICEAge. The company’s commitment to innovation, coupled with its vast sales and service network, positions it as a leader in the electric vehicle market in India.

Expanding the EV Ecosystem
In line with its growth strategy, Ola Electric is also developing the Ola Futurefactory and the upcoming Ola Gigafactory in Tamil Nadu, further enhancing its capacity to produce EVs and critical components such as battery packs and motors. The Battery Innovation Centre in Bengaluru will support research and development efforts to advance cell and battery technology, ensuring that Ola Electric remains at the cutting edge of EV innovation.

With the ongoing evolution of the EV 2W market, Ola Electric continues to push the boundaries of what is possible, ensuring that its customers have access to high-performance, affordable, and safe electric scooters and motorcycles.
