Kishtwar’s Chatru region is currently the focal point of a major counter-terror operation following a string of successful engagements by Indian security forces. Operation Chatru, which began on April 10, has led to the neutralization of three terrorists so far. Between 1 PM and 2 PM, two more terrorists were killed, bringing the total number of militants neutralized to three.

The operation is being led by Maj Gen APS Bal, the General Officer Commanding (GoC) of Delta Force, who is overseeing the mission from the ground.
