The project, part of the TEESTA-V Power Station, involves the modification of an existing diversion tunnel into a tunnel spillway arrangement. As the lowest bidder (L1), Patel Engineering has successfully secured the contract for Package 6, which encompasses both civil and hydro mechanical works.

This prestigious contract, set to be completed within an 18-month timeframe, is another testament to the company's vast experience, particularly in the North Eastern States, where it is already working on NHPC's TEESTA VI HEP project near Singtam town, Sikkim.

The scope of work includes the construction of key components such as a tunnel spillway, gate operation chamber, precast bridge, excess road, and a dyke and tunnel for environment flow. In addition, Patel Engineering will oversee the development of essential infrastructure like the energy dissipation arrangement and the Gate Operation Chamber (GOC).

As a company with a strong track record, Patel Engineering has completed significant projects over the years. These include more than 85 dams, 40 hydroelectric projects, and over 300 km of tunneling work. The company has played a crucial role in irrigation, tunneling, and hydroelectric projects for clients, primarily from central public sector undertakings (PSUs) and state government organizations. This current project further solidifies their presence in the hydropower sector.
