In a momentous development for Madhya Pradesh's industrial landscape, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 23, 2025, for approving the PM MITRA Park in the state. The PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) scheme is poised to have a transformative impact on India’s textile industry, with Madhya Pradesh at the heart of this transformation. The approval of the Rs 2,100 crore development plan for the park marks a significant step towards establishing India as a global textile manufacturing hub.

PM MITRA Park is set to become the first-ever state-of-the-art integrated textile park in India, spread across a sprawling 2100-acre site. In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), CM Yadav expressed his deep appreciation, stating, “Heartfelt gratitude to Hon’ble PM Shri @narendramodi ji for approving the Rs. 2100 Cr PM MITRA Park in Madhya Pradesh. This visionary project will transform India’s textile sector originating from Madhya Pradesh and empower lakhs with new job opportunities.”

The development of the PM MITRA Park is a key initiative of the Indian government to boost the domestic textile sector, creating a complete textile value chain that spans from fiber production to finished products. This scheme is aimed at enhancing India’s global textile competitiveness and positioning the country as a global leader in textile manufacturing.

Key Features of the PM MITRA Park Development Plan:

  • The park will feature 20 MLD (million liters per day) Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD), ensuring sustainable water use.

  • A solar power plant will be installed to cater to the park’s energy needs.

  • Plug-and-play units will be available, allowing businesses to set up operations with ease.

  • A dedicated worker accommodation facility will be part of the park, ensuring a comfortable and efficient work environment for laborers.

Construction of the park is set to be completed in 14 months, with Rs 10,000 crore worth of investment interest already received. The Ministry of Textiles further announced that applications for land allotment within the park would be invited shortly, marking the beginning of a new era for the textile industry in India.

The PM MITRA scheme aims to establish world-class industrial infrastructure that will not only enhance the efficiency of India’s textile sector but also attract large-scale investments, including foreign direct investment (FDI). The scheme is expected to create job opportunities for thousands of people and serve as a platform for innovation and entrepreneurship within the textile industry.

The project is a crucial part of the government’s vision to make India a global hub for textile manufacturing and exports. By improving economies of scale and providing cutting-edge infrastructure, PM MITRA Parks will give Indian textile manufacturers the competitive edge they need to compete in international markets. The scheme’s successful implementation is likely to boost India’s textile exports and contribute to the country’s overall economic growth.

In his statement, CM Yadav further emphasized how the park will empower thousands of families in the state by creating sustainable livelihoods and business opportunities within the textile sector. Madhya Pradesh, which is already home to a rich tradition of handlooms and textiles, is expected to benefit immensely from the modernized infrastructure the PM MITRA Park will bring.

As the construction progresses, there is a strong belief that the park will attract both domestic and international players to set up operations and invest in textile production. The state’s efforts to ensure world-class facilities for businesses will be pivotal in attracting top global textile manufacturers to establish their presence in India.

This strategic step aligns with the government’s broader Make in India initiative, aimed at promoting domestic manufacturing and making India a dominant player in global supply chains. By focusing on creating a comprehensive and efficient textile ecosystem, the PM MITRA Park is set to become a cornerstone of India’s industrial growth story in the coming years.

As India gears up to strengthen its position in the global textile market, the PM MITRA Park in Madhya Pradesh is expected to serve as a catalyst for economic development, providing a much-needed boost to employment and industrial advancement.
