On December 22, 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made history by becoming the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Kuwait in 43 years. During this landmark visit, he was conferred with Kuwait's highest civilian honor, The Order of Mubarak Al-Kabeer, in recognition of his contributions to strengthening the relationship between the two nations. This prestigious award underscores the growing diplomatic and economic ties between India and Kuwait.

The visit also witnessed significant discussions aimed at enhancing cooperation in key sectors such as pharmaceuticals, IT, and defense.
