• PM Modi praised Indian troops for unprecedented success in Operation Sindoor striking terror sites and military targets
• Modi warned Pakistan that continued terrorism from its soil will lead to annihilation, calling Operation Sindoor a Lakshman Rekha
• Modi reaffirmed India’s new anti-terror policy rejecting nuclear blackmail and treating terror acts as acts of war

Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a powerful address to Indian troops on May 13, 2025, at the strategically significant Adampur airbase in Punjab, located just 100 km from the Pakistan border. His visit underscored India’s firm stance against terrorism and served as a direct rebuttal to Pakistan’s recent false claims about attacks on the airbase and its advanced S-400 air defence system.

Modi praised the Indian military for the outstanding success of Operation Sindoor, a four-day operation that resulted in the destruction of nine terror camps and severe damage to eight military installations across the border. This operation marked a significant blow to Pakistan-sponsored terrorism, which the Prime Minister described as crossing a clear Lakshman Rekha or red line.

Addressing the troops with the S-400 missile launcher as a backdrop, Modi sent a stern warning to Pakistan: “Not only have you failed to harm any of India’s military installations but you will be annihilated if terrorism continues from your soil.” His message reiterated the new normal of India’s anti-terror policy, introduced the previous day, which includes a firm stand that nuclear blackmail will not deter India, acts of terror will be considered acts of war, and that India will no longer distinguish between terrorists and their state sponsors.

During his visit, Modi greeted soldiers who expressed patriotic fervor with shouts of Bharat Mata ki Jai. Modi emphasized that this slogan is more than words — it represents the soldiers' solemn pledge to dedicate their lives to the nation. He linked the phrase to the recent military success, saying, “When our drones and missiles hit our enemies, they hear Bharat Mata ki Jai.”

The Prime Minister also saluted the valour of the Army, Air Force, and Navy personnel involved in Operation Sindoor. He declared that the Indian armed forces had effectively defeated the Pakistan Army and crushed the terrorists who wrongly believed they had protection. Modi stressed that the patrons of terrorism now realize that threatening India will lead to their own destruction.

He criticized Pakistan for allegedly using civilian aircraft as cover during military exchanges, highlighting Pakistan’s reckless approach.

Adampur airbase holds great strategic importance, housing Rafale and Mig-29 squadrons, and has historically been pivotal in India’s wars with Pakistan, including those in 1965 and 1971.
